The Story
For the past two years, I’ve made Sophia a cocktail while she finishes getting ready for our date nights. Somewhere along the way, it became a tradition. I started documenting the recipes, partly so I wouldn’t forget them and partly so I could eventually share the ones worth making again.
The Sophia Spritz is the first time that tradition has left our home. Sophia had been asking me to make her something with Sarti Rosa, and when my friends Ludo and Naza, the brothers behind Sorsi Spritz Bar & Lounge, gave me the opportunity to collaborate on a drink for their menu, it seemed like the right time to finally make it.
The result is the Sophia Spritz, a bright, slightly sweet and citrusy spritz made with Sarti Rosa, Prosecco, lime and agave. More importantly, it’s the first cocktail I’ve made for Sophia that anyone in Tampa Bay can go out and order for themselves.
The Recipe
2 oz Sarti Rosa
3 oz Prosecco
1 oz soda water
½ oz fresh lime juice
½ oz agave
The Method
Add the Sarti Rosa, Prosecco, soda water, fresh lime juice and agave to a large wine glass, in that order.
Add ice and give everything a gentle stir to combine.
Finish with fresh mint and an edible flower, or a lime wheel and an edible flower.
Serve immediately, preferably somewhere in the sun.
